Couple Counselling
Couple’s counselling at the Aulneau Renewal Centre focuses on addressing complex issues in order to strengthen marital relationships; or to resolve specific issues causing conflict. Complex issues include rebuilding trust, increasing personal happiness in fidelity to religious vows, developing coping strategies for parenting and separating amicably. Shorter term assistance for resolving specific conflicting issues such as: communication, intimacy, blending families, and negotiating distance and closeness are also provided.
Funding Resources:
This program is funded by the Winnipeg Foundation, Missionary Oblate Sisters and counselling revenues.
Services Include:
- Resolving issues by: modifying dysfunctional behaviours, letting go of past grievances, reframing frustrations, building mutual emotional support, re-romanticizing, resolving childhood frustrations, envisioning a dream relationship and resolving rage.
- Developing skills for more effective ways of negotiating both individual and couple needs. This assists couples in promoting increased harmony in their relationships.
Highlights of the year include:
- A total of 153.5 counselling hours were devoted to assist couples in resolving their relationship difficulties
